Kurzman Architecture was retained by the Roti Group to develop their restaurant concept. After completing the first store in Palatine, Roti positioned themselves in this 2,650 square foot restaurant build-out in a first floor storefront space of this Chicago riverfront high-rise next to the busiest Starbucks in all of Chicagoland per its proximity to the Metro train lines and local Chicago Loop businesses. Working with interior design firm Kathy Taslitz Interiors, Inc., the space was developed to take advantage of its location with access from inside the building as well as the south exterior storefront where terrace dining is set up during the warm season. This project included meticulous coordination with landlord requirements including a 2nd floor mechanical equipment room requiring structural openings for ductwork penetrations approved through the peer review process with the City of Chicago. This restaurant is doing extremely well with customers lined up out the door every lunch hour during the business week which has funded further expansion of this popular and healthy concept.
