Kurzman Architecture teamed up with Italian architecture firm Vudafieri Saverino Partners to be their local architect of record from lease negotiation through contract document development, bidding, permitting and construction for a unique two-story boutique Jewelry store on famed Oak Street within the Magnificent Mile Association shopping district. Buccellati was one of the first tenants to come into the new Esquire Theater development after the conversion of the previous theater had commenced. Kurzman Architecture coordinated landlord work for structural floor openings for the new stair and elevator going to the mezzanine level. The design incorporates an overlook from the mezzanine to the two-story entry room with sculptural wood columns and spectacular crystal chandelier. The design is the first incorporation of modern design combined with Buccellati’s traditional style from Europe for a unique and fresh addition to Oak Street Jewelers. The exterior facade architecture was implemented by Booth Hanson and Architects and interior and exterior construction was done by Shawmut Construction.
